The Town of High River is reminding residents about the proper way to recycle various items. Residents can call the town or ask staff at the recycling centre for guidance on what can be recycled.<\/p>\n

The recycling centre accepts several battery types\u2014Ni-MH, Ni-Cd, SSLA\/Pb, Li-Ion and Ni-Zn\u2014provided they weigh under five kilograms. Car batteries are excluded, but small rechargeable tool batteries may be dropped off.<\/p>\n

Breakable Styrofoam is accepted, while bendy, plastic\u2011style or black Styrofoam is not. Pizza boxes can be recycled if they are free of oil, grease or food residue.<\/p>\n

All glass, both clear and coloured such as olive\u2011oil bottles, is now accepted at the centre. A complete list of accepted items is posted on the town\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

The centre operates from 8\u202fa.m. to 5\u202fp.m. Tuesday\u2011Thursday and Saturdays, and from 10\u202fa.m. to 5\u202fp.m. on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays.<\/p>\n
