It's a brush with greatness!
Five local artists will face off in the second annual Foothills Paint-Off event, taking place tomorrow, September 19, in Olde Towne Plaza, Okotoks. Organized by Christine Walker, the event features a diverse group of artists, including Walker, Russell Thomas, Virgini Senden, Janifer Calvez, and ARTrophy.
The event is part of Alberta Culture Days, a celebration of the province’s rich cultural heritage. The artists will paint live over the course of three hours, using the same landscape reference photo, allowing spectators to witness the creative process firsthand.
Following the event, the paintings will be showcased in the upcoming Vibrant Community exhibit at the newly opened Fig Studio Arts in Okotoks. The event runs from noon to 3 p.m., and spectators are invited to stroll through and see the five distinct creative styles come to life in real time.
The Foothills Paint-Off is a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts to experience the talents of local artists and enjoy the vibrant community spirit of Okotoks.
