It's time to "dig in" to the River's Edge Infrastructure Improvements project!
Construction on the River’s Edge Infrastructure Improvements project in Okotoks is set to begin on September 28 and continue until early November, weather permitting. The project aims to improve the long-term reliability and capacity of the area’s water and sanitary infrastructure, supporting future growth.
The work will be completed in two stages to maintain access and keep the project moving forward. During the first stage, the Lineham Avenue and South Railway Street intersection will be closed to through traffic, and the westbound lane of South Railway Street west of Lineham Avenue will be closed. Access to nearby properties, the river valley pathway system, and Summit West School will be maintained through temporary access routes and signed detours.
As construction progresses, traffic patterns will change, and motorists should expect temporary detours, lane closures, and parking restrictions. The project team will maintain access for residents, businesses, school traffic, and pedestrians throughout construction.
Project Timeline
- Stage 1: Watermain Installation (September 28 to October 13)
- Stage 2: Sanitary Sewer Installation (October 14 to Early November)
